The tongue-in-cheek response stems from Doja Cat’s recent appearance on Sundae Conversation, where the Grammy-winning artist was asked if she followed Langley’s music. Delivering her signature, unfiltered reaction, Doja genuinely responded, “I don’t know what that is. Ella Langley?”

After the clip went viral and surprised fans across social media, Doja took to a livestream to listen to Langley’s blockbuster single “Choosin’ Texas” in real time. While the rapper was candid about her general aversion to the country genre, she offered balanced praise for Langley’s talent.

“I don’t understand what’s so hard to believe about that,” Doja explained to viewers regarding her lack of country music knowledge. “I never cared. I like that one Keith Urban song from 2004. I wouldn’t say that I like [Langley’s] music; she’s probably a fine lady. I don’t care for that type of s–t at all. It doesn’t inspire me, it doesn’t make me feel good.”

She continued: “This is not my vibe, but she has a very pretty voice. If this is No. 1 on the charts, I’m sure it’s on the radio… It’s very earwormy, like a catchy melody. I get it, and she’s pretty.”
