FromSoftware says it needs additional time for optimization.
FromSoftware announced it will not be able to launch Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition for the Nintendo Switch 2 before the end of this year, and the release has been postponed to 2026.
The team apologized to fans who were awaiting the release, explaining that the extra time will let them boost Elden Ring’s performance on the Switch 2 and deliver the action RPG on Nintendo’s console in “the best possible form.”
Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition adds two new classes, four mount appearances and gear that did not appear in the original game. All Tarnished Edition content will be offered to other platforms as a free update.
