Rumors regarding an impending wedding for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce continue to swirl, and it appears the tight end’s father, Ed Kelce, couldn’t be more enthusiastic about the union.
Speaking with FOX 29 Philly this past Wednesday (June 24), Ed Kelce shared his thoughts while volunteering at a charity event hosted by his eldest son, Jason, in Sea Isle City, New Jersey. When the conversation turned to the potential wedding plans for the younger Kelce, Ed offered a glowing endorsement, stating simply, “I am super excited.”
He was equally effusive when discussing the pop icon herself. “She is a sweetheart,” Ed remarked, drawing a thoughtful parallel between Swift and his other daughter-in-law. “She really is the girl next door, just like Kylie.”
Ed’s public approval mirrors the growing anticipation among the global fanbase, especially as reports suggest the couple may be eyeing the upcoming Fourth of July weekend for a celebration. While speculation regarding the venue remains rampant—with some rumors pointing toward a high-profile ceremony at Madison Square Garden—the couple has yet to confirm any official details.
In the meantime, the Kelce family remains focused on their charitable contributions. While Jason Kelce was dedicated to raising funds for autism research in New Jersey, Travis was simultaneously in Nashville leading his annual Tight End University summit. The event, which brings together top NFL talent for a worthy cause, saw a surprise appearance from Swift, who delighted the crowd by joining Lainey Wilson for an impromptu performance of “Love Story.”
Reflecting on his sons’ commitment to community service, Ed noted, “They have made a point of giving back. They do a lot, and they know they should. They don’t view it as a burden; they see it as a responsibility they are proud to accept.”
