Niall Horan Marks 10th Anniversary of His Song This Town

Niall Horan celebrated the 10th anniversary of his debut solo single “This Town” on Tuesday (Sept. 29) with an Instagram post featuring behind-the-scenes photos and videos from the era.

“‘This Town’ was released 10 years ago today. It was the first song I released out on my own and it’s so special to me for many reasons,” Horan wrote in his caption.

Released following One Direction’s 2015 hiatus, the acoustic guitar-driven track arrived in 2016 amid a landscape of big pop songs with big productions. Despite its stripped-down approach, the single debuted at No. 63 on the Billboard Hot 100 in October 2016 with just one day of tracking. It climbed to No. 25 the following week and peaked at No. 20 in January 2017.

“To reach over a billion streams and see you all singing it back to me all these years later, is absolutely unbelievable,” Horan added.

Horan also teased that he has a few special things in the works to mark the milestone.

“It was my song and now it’s ours,” he concluded, adding, “happy 10 years of ‘This Town.’”
