Dua Lipa is basking in newlywed bliss. Gracing the cover of Vogue Italia’s September issue, the global pop luminary revisited her breathtaking June nuptials to British actor Callum Turner in Palermo, Italy, calling the celebration an unforgettable, transcendent milestone.

Following an intimate civil ceremony held in London this past May, the couple hosted a magnificent coastal gathering in Sicily. Reflecting on how they preserved the intimacy of such a monumental occasion, the singer revealed the simple yet powerful philosophy they embraced.

“The wedding day was magical,” she shared. “We received so much advice, but we decided to follow just two pieces of it: to experience the day as if we were guests ourselves and to constantly seek each other out in the crowd, never losing sight of one another. That way, we really have so many memories together.”

Lipa turned heads on the Sicilian coast in a bespoke Chanel Haute Couture creation conceived by Matthieu Blazy—an artisanal masterpiece that reportedly required upwards of 1,000 hours of meticulous handiwork. The star-studded festivities also featured an exclusive performance by her legendary collaborator, Elton John. The couple subsequently extended their Italian voyage with a sun-soaked honeymoon spanning Sicily, Rome, and the Amalfi Coast.

Leaving Perfectionism in Her Twenties

Beyond wedding reflections, the 31-year-old opened up about shedding the rigid perfectionism that dictated her earlier years. This mental shift was on full display during her Radical Optimism Tour, where she embraced spontaneity by singing in the native language of each tour stop—a challenge she once would have found too intimidating.

“I never would have done it; I was too much of a perfectionist. But that’s a side of me I left behind in my 20s,” Lipa explained. “Now that I’m 31, I care about different things—or rather, things that are more human and real. Over time, I’ve learned to forgive myself, to be more forgiving in general. I love the unpredictability of life, and I have to admit, I’m having a lot more fun.”

This grounded approach also extends to her digital presence. While fans eagerly anticipate her signature vacation photo dumps, she admits to having wrestled with occasional social media hesitation. Her current solution is simple: post intuitively, exit the platform, and live in the moment without overthinking the curation.

A New Creative Chapter in the Studio

“When I was younger, I found much more inspiration from the search and desire for love. Heartbreak is a very strong and loud emotion,” she noted. “Now I want to discover what happens when you actually find love. I’m interested in the complexities of a relationship, its quieter aspects, the small things.”
