Dragon Ball Super Trailer Reveals New Release Date and Details

The remake of the Dragon Ball Super anime, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, has a release date. The next entry in the Dragon Ball franchise debuts on Fuji TV on Oct. 11. Fans in the US can catch a world-premiere screening of the first episode on Oct. 8 at New York Comic Con 2026, during the Dragon Ball Super: Beerus special panel.

A new super surge trailer accompanied the announcement, giving Dragon Ball fans an extensive look at the remake. Toei Animation showcases high-quality visuals, while the trailer also sheds light on how long the anime will be and which arcs it will cover.

The Dragon Ball Super canon features differences across three main sources: the movies, the anime, and the manga. Dragon Ball Super: Beerus covers the God of Destruction Beerus arc, the Resurrection ‘F’ arc, and the God of Destruction Champa arc. The names for the story arcs may vary between the manga and anime. The series covers the first two Dragon Ball Super movies, Battle of Gods and Resurrection ‘F’, alongside the first 46 episodes of the anime, excluding fillers.

The trailer revealed the opening and ending themes. Megatera – Zero performs “Onogami”, and VK Blanka performs “Kan Peki No Peki”. The original anime featured the opening theme “Chosetsu Dynamic!”.

Fans noticed that in scenes showing Goku fighting Frieza, the protagonist uses his Super Saiyan God form before transforming into Super Saiyan Blue. This detail was missing from the Resurrection ‘F’ movie.

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus airs on Fuji TV in the same time slot as One Piece. Eiichiro Oda’s manga adaptation recently switched to a seasonal release schedule consisting of 26 episodes every year. The two anime may alternate on Fuji TV instead of maintaining ongoing weekly productions.

Fans get their first chance to watch Dragon Ball Super: Beerus at New York Comic Con 2026 on Oct. 8. Jason Douglas voices Beerus, Ian Sinclair voices Whis, and Monica Rial voices Bulma. After the debut in Japan on Oct. 11, the anime will likely air on Crunchyroll.

Future plans following Dragon Ball Super: Beerus remain unconfirmed, though the Galactic Patrol arc (aka the Moro arc) is in development.
