Don Hertzfeldt Animation Collection Joins Dropout Streaming Service
Subscribers of Dropout have a new reason to celebrate as the comedy-forward streaming service adds filmmaker Don Hertzfeldt’s work to its library.
Starting Tuesday, August 4, the platform became the streaming home for a large collection of Don Hertzfeldt’s projects. The lineup includes the Oscar-nominated Rejected, the World of Tomorrow trilogy, and numerous other shorts. Don Hertzfeldt’s latest film, Paper Trail, will also make its streaming debut on Dropout following its theatrical awards run earlier this year.
Don Hertzfeldt creates personal films that bypass conventional adult animation formats in favor of distinct visual storytelling. He is a regular participant at the Sundance Film Festival and created a notable Simpsons couch gag.
Dropout continues to acquire singular comedy voices alongside recognized properties like Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared and other animated shorts.
“After seeing the films scattered across different streaming platforms for so many years, it’s amazing to finally bring them together under the same roof, for the very first time,” said Don Hertzfeldt in a news release. “I don’t know what Dropout is, but I hear it’s all game shows, and who doesn’t love a good game show?”
