DDR5 Prices in Germany Rise Nearly Fivefold in One Year
Standard DDR5 memory kits in Germany have seen a 486% price increase compared to July 2025, according to research from German price comparison platform Geizhals.
Memory market conditions are growing increasingly strained as prices continue to climb, with the ongoing AI boom cited as a major contributing factor. The surge has already sparked concerns over the broader PC market in several countries.
According to the Geizhals study, a standard DDR5 kit now costs 4.9 times more than it did a year ago, reflecting the 486% jump since July 2025.

Between July and August 2026 alone, memory prices rose by another 9%, with further double-digit increases expected in the coming months.
The rising cost of memory is expected to directly impact retail pricing across computers, smartphones, graphics cards, and other devices equipped with onboard memory.
