Angelina Jolie revealed that she has filed a lawsuit against Brad Pitt over the French vineyard Miraval, which became solely owned by the actor following their high-profile divorce. Jolie is currently expecting to recover $33,000 connected to the legal proceedings.
According to reports, Jolie and the children left the Miraval estate immediately after the separation because remaining there was impossible amid painful memories. She has said she hoped that distancing herself from the property might help Pitt cope during a difficult and emotionally taxing time.
In court documents submitted to the judge, Jolie stressed that she never sought money from her former husband. On the contrary, she offered him the opportunity to buy her share of the estate on terms she proposed — an offer he declined.
Nevertheless, in 2022 the actress succeeded in selling her stake in Miraval, a sale that Pitt repeatedly attempted to contest.
