Deadpool chats with the Avengers team at Comic-Con
The San Diego Comic-Con presentation for the upcoming blockbuster “Avengers: Doomsday” took an unexpected turn when Ryan Reynolds made a surprise appearance, fully decked out in his Gray Deadpool suit.
Reynolds introduced himself as “Ricky”—insisting it’s a mononym “like Cher or Madonna”—and playfully inquired about the production schedule for the new film. Robert Downey Jr., who has been cast as Doctor Doom, quipped back that the movie had already finished filming.
I see. So, there won’t be any reshoots? No budget overruns, extra expenses, or last-minute additions?
— Reynolds joked, clearly feigning disappointment. Director Anthony Russo swiftly shut down the suggestion with a firm “no.”
Many fans believe this humorous exchange was a calculated move by Reynolds to tease his involvement in the project, though Marvel Studios has yet to officially confirm his participation. “Avengers: Doomsday” is currently slated for release on December 18.
Previously, Reynolds hinted at the possibility of a “Deadpool 4.” The latest installment, “Deadpool & Wolverine,” was a massive box office hit in 2024, grossing $1.3 billion worldwide.
