Glen Schofield hopes EA’s new owners will hear him out and provide funding.
Glen Schofield said he’s encouraged by EA’s change in ownership and believes the new leadership might listen to his proposals — and perhaps even bankroll a new Dead Space. The veteran developer shared this in an interview with IGN at Gamescom Asia x Thailand Game Show.
Recently Schofield pitched EA a plan to reduce the budget by roughly $30–40 million by reusing assets and workflows from EA Motive — the studio that produced the 2023 Dead Space remake — and assembling a fresh team to develop the project. EA turned down the idea, saying it’s no longer interested in expanding the series. Schofield is hopeful the company’s new management will be more receptive.
I have a few concepts, one of which is Dead Space 4. With EA’s recent change of ownership, I see new possibilities.
Schofield also believes Dead Space should be explored beyond games — adapted into film and television to expand the universe.
