Davido Marks 15 Years of Afrobeats Excellence with Upcoming Album ‘ORIADÉ’

As the summer heat intensifies, global Afrobeats icon Davido is preparing to deliver his latest musical chapter to fans worldwide.
Today, we can exclusively confirm that the five-time Grammy-nominated star will unveil his sixth studio album, ORIADÉ, on July 31. The title serves as a beautiful fusion of the Yoruba terms “ori,” representing destiny or one’s head, and “adé,” meaning crown. This highly anticipated project arrives as the perfect milestone to commemorate the 15th anniversary of his illustrious career.
“Over fifteen years ago, I committed to a vision I couldn’t fully articulate—I simply knew music was my calling,” Davido shares. “ORIADÉ is a tribute to the path that brought me here. Being in a position to champion African music on a global scale is a privilege I never take for granted. My hope is that listeners find the courage to pursue their own purpose, even when the road ahead is uncertain. True success often stems from betting on yourself.”
The new record follows the lead single “I Know Who I Be,” released this past Friday. ORIADÉ serves as the successor to 2025’s 5ive, a project that secured a top-five position on the World Albums chart and featured an eclectic mix of collaborators, including Victoria Monét, YG Marley, and Chris Brown. With this new era, Davido focuses on themes of profound gratitude and intentional growth.
This release continues a landmark year for the Nigerian powerhouse. Following his vibrant Coachella debut in April—which included a surprise guest appearance by Adekunle Gold—Davido contributed to the official FIFA World Cup 2026 soundtrack with “No Place Like Home,” alongside Major Lazer and Nelly Furtado. During their recent performance in Los Angeles, Davido made a powerful statement by wearing a custom jacket honoring students and teachers abducted in Nigeria’s Oyo State.
