David Lee Roth Joins Teddy Swims for ‘Jump’ at Stagecoach

Stagecoach Festival took an electric turn Saturday night when rock icon David Lee Roth made a surprise appearance, joining soul-pop powerhouse Teddy Swims for a blistering rendition of the Van Halen classic, “Jump.”

The collaboration served as a highlight of Swims’ set, which had already featured soul-stirring performances of his recent tracks “Mr. Know It All” and “Some Things I’ll Never Know” from his acclaimed 2023 debut album, I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1).

This onstage team-up marks the third time the duo has surprised festival audiences recently. During their shared performance at Coachella, Swims introduced the legendary frontman as “David Lee Roth from the greatest band of all time, Van Halen,” before diving into the high-energy 1984 hit.

The electrifying cameo unfolded against a backdrop of logistical uncertainty at the Empire Polo Club. Earlier in the evening, severe wind gusts necessitated a temporary evacuation of the grounds, resulting in a condensed lineup that saw sets by artists like Journey and Riley Green removed from the schedule.

Despite the turbulent weather, which prompted urgent safety alerts for attendees to relocate, the festival managed to resume operations. Swims’ performance remained a centerpiece of the night, offering a triumphant, high-wattage moment for fans as the event navigated the challenging conditions to cross the finish line.
