Calvin Harris has joined the lineup for the second and final day of the Head Trip dance festival on Sunday (Oct. 11) after the first night of the one-time event on the Coachella grounds in Indio, California, ended early due to the potential effects of Tropical Storm Rachel.
Day two programming is now scheduled to begin 25 minutes earlier than originally scheduled, with UK icon DJ Harvey beginning the day at 3:05 p.m. His set is followed by performances from The Blessed Madonna, Dom Dolla b2b Kettama, Skrillex, Harris, and Swedish House Mafia. This final trio of sets will place three of the architects of the EDM era and the US dance music boom back to back on the same lineup.
Night one of the festival on Saturday (Oct. 10) ended early at 9 p.m. due to a lightning warning when weather moved into the region as storm Rachel hit the coast of Southern California. The music was cut off as Fisher and Chris Lake, performing as Under Construction, were playing Lake’s 2022 track Turn off the Lights.
Head Trip is a Goldenvoice festival produced in the same format of the company’s 2016 classic rock extravaganza Desert Trip and their 2023 metal-focused Power Trip. It takes place on one stage on the field at Indio’s Empire Polo Club. This stage gathers attendees inside one main stage and myriad satellite stations projecting the stage video feed, and it was designed by High Scream, the company by Romain Pissenem that is also behind projects including Ibiza club UNVRS.
The site also includes Sunflower Soundsystem, a tent and club space curated by Floating Points. The day two lineup for that space is unconfirmed, while day one featured Theo Parrish, Large Professor, and Floating Points.
Head Trip streams for free on Apple Music, with additional livestreams available on Apple Music’s TikTok account, Twitch, and YouTube. Fans can also listen to the audio-only simulcast on Apple Music 1 and Apple Music Club, TuneIn airing the Apple Music Club livestream, and Sirius XM.
