Legendary filmmaker David Cronenberg, acclaimed for his work on classics like The Fly and Crash, is embracing an unexpected creative role: he will be a guest contributor on the latest album by British pop star Charli XCX.
The record, titled Music, Fashion, Film✱trans. Music, Fashion, Film, is slated for release on July 24. Cronenberg is set to appear on the album’s grand finale, “No One Lasts Forever”✱trans. No One Lasts Forever. Clocking in at five minutes and 42 seconds, the track stands as the longest composition on the entire project.
The cover art for Music, Fashion, Film features a star-studded lineup, showcasing iconic director Martin Scorsese alongside fashion designer Marc Jacobs and The Velvet Underground co-founder John Cale.

Cronenberg’s most recent cinematic effort, The Shrouds, debuted in 2024. While the director has yet to announce his next film project, fans recently caught him in a cameo appearance in the sequel to the horror hit Ready or Not earlier this spring.
