Dario Argento is gearing up to commence production on his latest feature film in September 2026.
The project will be filmed in French on location in Paris, produced by Les Films du Camélia, and will star Isabelle Huppert in the lead role. As the project has faced several years of delays, this new timeline should be viewed with cautious optimism.
While plot details remain under wraps, it is known that the film will serve as a loose remake of a classic Mexican motion picture from the 1940s. The 85-year-old director has described the work as the most visceral and blood-soaked entry in his filmography. Huppert, for her part, has expressed her long-standing desire to collaborate with Argento, whom she characterizes as an eccentric and visionary artist.
