Dan Trachtenberg to Helm Animated Horror Comedy
According to Deadline, Dan Trachtenberg—the filmmaker behind Prey—is set to direct a feature-length animated adaptation of Yehudi Mercado’s graphic novel, Freddy the 13th, for Paramount Animation.
The project is envisioned as a family-friendly horror film. The narrative follows Freddy Vanwinkle, the unlucky thirteenth son of a thirteenth son, who inadvertently kills a legendary monster and inherits its dark curse. Consequently, Freddy is given a ticking-clock deadline of thirteen nights to break the hex.
Details regarding the voice cast and the official release date have yet to be announced.
