Cyberpunk 2077 Modder Resets Kill Counter and Discovers Hidden Dialogue with Johnny Silverhand

CD Projekt RED meticulously accounted for players committed to a pacifist run in Cyberpunk 2077.

Recently, a community member known as breadballer brought a hidden detail to light regarding a specific interaction with Johnny Silverhand. It appears that CD Projekt RED’s narrative team specifically tailored dialogue to acknowledge players who complete the game without personally taking a single life.

This rare exchange surfaces during one of the pivotal conversations between V and Johnny in the quest titled “Tapeworm.”

Under normal circumstances, when the protagonist criticizes Johnny for his callous disregard for casualties, Silverhand immediately retorts by highlighting V’s own violent history.

Typical dialogue might include lines like, “You’ve stacked up quite a body count yourself. Is it just the scale of mine that bothers you?” However, for those maintaining a zero-kill record, the retort shifts significantly.

By resetting the kill counter through modding to ensure a pure pacifist state, the player triggered a different response from Silverhand: “Oh, right, I forgot—you’re the sensitive type, won’t do the dirty work. Problem is, you’re perfectly fine letting everyone else do the killing in your stead.”

The discoverer noted that even if the strict zero-kill requirement is met, the dialogue is still missable, as it requires navigating specific branches within the conversation tree to trigger.
