Critics Praise the New “Predator”

Early critic reactions to the film “Predator: Badlands” have begun to surface online.

As of this article’s publication, the Elle Fanning–fronted project held an 88% positive score on Rotten Tomatoes. That makes it the third-best-rated entry in the franchise, trailing only “Dobycha” and the animated “Killer of Killers.”

Critics praised the decision to place the Predator at the center of the story, lauded Dan Trachtenberg’s direction, and noted the film’s comparatively more family-friendly approach. In the U.S., the picture received a PG-13 rating (children under 13 are advised to be accompanied by an adult).

“Badlands” follows the Predator (Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi) and the android Tia (Fanning) as they confront a shared adversary. The film is scheduled to open in international markets on November 7.
