The initial wave of critical reviews for Steven Spielberg’s latest sci-fi feature, “Disclosure Day,” has arrived online ahead of the film’s global theatrical release this week.
As of this writing, the movie holds an impressive 87% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a score of 73 out of 100 on Metacritic. Critics have praised Spielberg for his masterful return to themes of extraterrestrial life and family dynamics, noting that the film serves as a spiritual successor to classics like “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” and “Minority Report.” Furthermore, Emily Blunt’s performance is being hailed as a career-defining turn.
“Disclosure Day” chronicles the arrival of extraterrestrials on Earth. The ensemble cast also features Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Colman Domingo, and Eve Hewson. The production was mounted on a budget of $115 million.
