Critics Praise “Minions & Monsters”

The third installment in the Minions franchise, “Minions and Monsters,” has garnered largely favorable reviews from international critics.

As of this writing, the film holds an impressive 92% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a score of 66 out of 100 on Metacritic. This achievement marks the highest critical reception yet for Illumination, the animation powerhouse renowned for the “Despicable Me” and “The Secret Life of Pets” franchises.

Reviewers have lauded the film’s sharp wit, the creative team’s boundless imagination, and a sense of eccentricity rarely found in mainstream cinema. Conversely, some detractors remained unimpressed, labeling the feature a “mediocre disaster” and a “self-indulgent misfire.”

The plot follows Gru’s mischievous yellow henchmen as they venture to 1920s Hollywood with ambitions to direct their very own horror movie. The voice cast features an eclectic ensemble, including Jeff Bridges, Christoph Waltz, Jesse Eisenberg, and the visionary creator of “Star Wars,” George Lucas.

International audiences can catch “Minions and Monsters” starting today, July 1st. Industry analysts project a robust global opening weekend, with earnings expected to reach $170 million.
