Critics Enthusiastically Received “The Odyssey”

The first wave of reviews for Christopher Nolan’s epic feature, The Odyssey, has officially arrived online.

Critics have lauded the film’s sweeping cinematic scale, Nolan’s masterful direction, and the powerhouse performances of the cast. As of this writing, the movie boasts an impressive score of 93 out of 100 on Metacritic, with its rating on Rotten Tomatoes expected to follow shortly.

David Ehrlich of IndieWire hails the project as a career-defining achievement, ranking it among Nolan’s finest work. Conversely, reviewers such as Guy Lodge from Variety and David Rooney of The Hollywood Reporter offered more tempered perspectives, describing the film as “distanced” and a “slumbering spectacle,” respectively.

The Odyssey has begun its rollout in select international markets, including France, while the U.S. premiere is slated for July 17. The adaptation of Homer’s classic epic features a star-studded ensemble cast, including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, and Robert Pattinson.
