Critical Role’s New Campaign to Feature VTuber Stars
Critical Role is partnering with Cover Corporation’s Hololive Production for Shattered Legends. The upcoming actual play miniseries is set in the world of Exandria and launches in mid-November 2026.
The new project connects to Critical Role’s first three campaigns: Vox Machina, The Mighty Nein, and Bells Hells. According to a news release, Shattered Legends is canon to that setting. Fans might see cameos from characters like Grog, Scanlan, Jester, Yasha, Fearne, and Imogen. Unlike the main campaigns, Shattered Legends uses Daggerheart, the tabletop role-playing game from Critical Role publishing arm Darrington Press.

Critical Role co-founder Matthew Mercer serves as the Game Master for Shattered Legends. Fellow co-founder Marisha Ray joins the adventure as the sole player from the regular cast. Hololive members Nerissa Ravencroft, Mori Calliope, Shiori Novella, and Gig Murin round out the player characters. The exact blend of in-person actual play and digital avatars remains to be seen.
Viewers can watch the show on Critical Role’s streaming platform, Beacon. Beacon subscribers gain access to exclusive content like a Session Zero focused on character creation and backstories, alongside post-episode Cooldown chat sessions. Episodes also air on the official YouTube channels of Critical Role, Nerissa Ravencroft, and Hololive English.
Additional plans for Shattered Legends include a promotional tour visiting conventions across North America, Europe, and Asia. Exclusive merchandise and further collaborations are also in development.

The miniseries follows the acclaimed Age of Umbra: Sallowlands. Shattered Legends premieres in mid-November 2026 on YouTube and Beacon.
