Critical Role Cast Reunites for a Cosmere Adventure

Physical editions of Brotherwise Games’ tabletop role‑playing adaptation of Brandon Sanderson’s novels arrive on sale on Nov. 12. Players eager to see the game in action can watch an actual‑play of the Cosmere Roleplaying Game streamed on Sanderson’s YouTube channel on Nov. 14.

Jasper Cartwright — known for running Dimension 20’s “Burrow’s End” and for work on Critical Role’s “The Re‑Slayer’s Take” — will helm the one‑shot adventure “Echoes of the Father.” Actor Abubakar Salim (Raised by Wolves) portrays Salim, the reluctant heir to Highprince Roion. He assembles a party that includes Jacqueline Emerson, Oxventure host Jane Douglas, and Mark/Mara Hulmes (Critical Role) to journey across the war‑torn, monster‑ridden Shattered Plains in pursuit of a coveted Shardblade, the legendary sword sought by Roshar’s elite. Cartwright previously ran the Candela Obscura adventure “Thresher” with many of the same players on Critical Role.

The production will feature full period costume and integrated visual effects to give viewers a cinematic sense of Roshar’s storm‑scarred landscapes. While “Echoes of the Father” is designed as a self‑contained tale, it could expand later under the new Eternal Realms initiative — a collaboration between Cartwright’s 12 Sided Studios and production company Paragon Pictures.

Cartwright said in a news release that creating a story with such a talented team, an exceptional table of players, and Brotherwise’s support has been a career highlight. He added that he’s fallen in love with Roshar and the Cosmere RPG and couldn’t be prouder of the finished product.

The Cosmere Roleplaying Game is the most‑backed tabletop title in Kickstarter history. The initial releases focus on Roshar, but Brotherwise and partners plan to expand across Sanderson’s interconnected Cosmere worlds; Mistborn‑set books are expected to follow in 2026.
