Two-person Australian studio Magic Van Games has announced Black Walls, a psychological horror game that casts players as an astronaut named Joshua trapped inside a surreal world behind black walls.

Magic Van Games has revealed a trailer for the psychological horror game featuring surreal, frighteningly empty spaces called Black Walls. Players step into the role of astronaut Joshua, who finds himself trapped in a mysterious world.

According to the story, an accident outside a space station sends Joshua drifting into deep space. When all hope for rescue fades, he spots the impossible on the far side of the Moon: black walls that allow entry but offer no way out.

The game features two modes. Chill Mode offers a calm journey free of threats, while Horror Mode introduces a stalker capable of appearing anywhere within the labyrinth. Player decisions carry symbolic weight, and their consequences affect the ending.

The developers from the two-person Australian studio compare the game to a combination of Dark Souls labyrinths and the unpredictable pursuer spirit of Mr. X from Resident Evil. Survival requires paying close attention to light, reflections, and architecture.

Black Walls is scheduled for release on PC in 2027. The game is already available to wishlist on Steam.
