Corner Quest: An Idle Auto-Battler That Runs in the Corner of Your Screen

Solo developer Ivan Ganza (EbonForgeGames) has released a free demo for Corner Quest, a 2D pixel-art idle incremental auto-battler designed to run in a small resizable window in the corner of your screen. The demo is available now on Steam as part of the Tower Defense Fest running from March 9 to 16.

The concept is simple: Corner Quest runs while you work, browse, or play other games. Resize the window to fit any corner of your desktop, and your character keeps fighting, earning Essence, and powering up in the background.

Core gameplay loop

Players defeat enemies to earn Essence, the main currency used to unlock and upgrade spells. The combat is automatic, but progression choices matter. Hunting for Runes adds another layer of depth, as these provide passive bonuses and synergize with different spell builds.

The Awaken system offers permanent upgrades that carry over between runs, creating a satisfying long-term progression curve even during short play sessions.

Designed for multitasking

Corner Quest is built around the idea that not every game needs your full attention. The window is fully resizable, meaning it can sit in the corner of your monitor while you handle other tasks. When you want to make decisions about upgrades or gear, just give it a glance.

Demo and release plans

The demo is live now on Steam during the Tower Defense Fest. The full game is planned for Q4 2026.
