Complete Dub of One of the World’s Most Popular Anime Finally Lands on Crunchyroll

For years the subtitles-versus-dubs argument divided anime fans, with purists insisting on subtitle fidelity while others embraced localized English performances. The streaming era, however, has helped dubs gain mainstream traction—platforms like Crunchyroll have made English-language tracks far more visible—even as licensing disputes continue to put some older titles out of reach. Debates about voice acting and licensing complications remain part of that landscape.

Haikyu!! has emerged as a celebrated example of a dub done well. After Crunchyroll previously added the first two seasons with English audio, the service has now integrated seasons 3 and 4, consolidating the entire series in one library. That English dub—produced by Sentai Filmworks and formerly exclusive to HIDIVE—was once difficult to track down until this wider release.

Crunchyroll also localized the two-episode TV special LAND vs. AIR, spotlighting Nekoma and Fukurodani, and has made the movie The Dumpster Battle available with English audio. A follow-up feature, Haikyu!! vs. The Little Giant, is planned as the franchise’s culminating film, though an official release date has not been announced.

Adapted from Haruichi Furudate’s 2012–2020 manga, Haikyu!! premiered in 2014 and follows Shoyo Hinata, a tenacious high schooler determined to excel at volleyball despite his modest height. Alongside former rival and now teammate Tobio Kageyama, Hinata pushes Karasuno High toward ever-higher goals as the squad vies for a national title.
