Charli xcx for Playboy Playboy/Aidan Zamiri

Charli xcx made her song “Playboy Bunny” a reality by posing for Playboy in an issue published Wednesday (Sept. 16).

Aidan Zamiri photographed the dance-pop star in London, capturing her in black lingerie in a hotel room, in her underwear against the city skyline, and aboard a boat on the river Thames. Regarding the river shoot, she said, “The tourists were into it.”

In her cover interview with The Moment costar Kylie Jenner, Charli discussed her desire to appear on the magazine. “I’ve wanted to shoot with Playboy for a while,” she said. “I love the logo. I love underwear. I love female bodies. I love full-out sexiness.”

She added, “A Playboy Bunny should never apologize for anything.”

While the full interview requires a Playboy subscription, preview quotes show Charli identifying a “toxic” relationship trait—being slightly avoidant—that she thinks is “hot, unfortunately.” She also named Jack Black as a celebrity she finds attractive.

“Sure, like, Jack Black’s sexy,” Charli said of the actor, whom Elle and Dakota Fanning also famously find ultra attractive. “Yeah, he’s funny. He’s talented. He’s cool. He’s original, you know? I think that makes people sexy when they’re just doing their thing.”

Charli released her latest LP, Music, Fashion, Film, in July, with “Playboy Bunny” featured as a B-side. The album debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

She is currently performing a six-show mini-tour, which drew criticism from fans over the limited dates. Charli addressed the backlash on Instagram, writing, “I know there’s a lot of frustration in the comments about the fact that I am not doing lots of dates.”

“I am really sorry if you feel disappointed, but I have to honor my truth as an artist: touring is really emotionally and physically hard for me,” she added. “I have a huge amount of respect for artists who can handle it at an intense, lengthy and high-octane level, but I am just not one of those human beings and I never have been.”
