Chappell Roan performed at the inaugural Daisy Chain Fields festival and shared on social media that the event renewed her desire to play live shows, while also praising organizer Olivia Rodrigo.
“Thank you for having me @daisychainfields !” Roan wrote on Monday, August 31, in an Instagram post featuring photos of her on stage in a purple outfit and makeup. “@oliviarodrigo u r so inspiring in so many ways. We need artists like u who use their platform for good and are such a light in the world. Thank you for being you and supporting artists like me , u have changed my life in so many ways <3”
“It felt so good to perform again, I didn’t realize how much I missed it,” Roan stated. “Really lived out my fifth element fantasy.”
Rodrigo responded in the comments section, writing, “u inspire me so much and I am so lucky to know u!”
Daisy Chain Fields took place on Saturday, August 29, marking Roan’s first full live performance in months outside of a guest appearance at Noah Kahan’s concert at Rose Bowl Stadium earlier in August. The Missouri native spent much of 2026 out of the public eye following a few festival appearances in February and May, as she works on the follow-up to her 2023 breakout album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in August 2024.
Roan and Rodrigo have been friends for years and share producer Dan Nigro. Roan previously opened for Rodrigo on the 2022 Sour Tour and the 2024 Guts World Tour.
The Daisy Chain Fields lineup featured Devon Again, who replaced KATSEYE after member Megan sprained her ankle, along with Mitski, Doechii, The Breeders, Garbage, and Bikini Kill. Stevie Nicks, Sarah McLachlan, and Alanis Morissette also appeared as special guests during Rodrigo’s headlining set.
Event proceeds benefit charities supporting women and girls. Rodrigo announced that ticket sales raised $10 million for organizations including Planned Parenthood and the Center for Reproductive Rights, and Melinda French Gates matched the amount to bring the total donation to $20 million.
