Chappell Roan, Mariah Carey and More to Appear on Expanded ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ Special

ABC’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest returns for its 54th edition, featuring a star-studded roster that includes Mariah Carey, Chappell Roan, Post Malone, Charlie Puth, Leon Thomas and HUNTR/X (the vocal lineup behind the global hit “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters), among a total of 33 announced performers. The lineup blends contemporary chart-toppers with veteran acts such as Rick Springfield, New Kids on the Block, 4 Non Blondes and the Goo Goo Dolls.

The special will air on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET and running through 4:00 a.m. ET on Thursday, January 1, 2026, on ABC, with streaming availability on Hulu the following day. Clocking in at eight hours, this installment is the longest telecast in the program’s history — roughly 90 minutes longer than last year — and will feature more than 85 songs across multiple locations and time zones.

Ryan Seacrest will return as the show’s primary host, joined in Times Square by Rita Ora. For the first time the program will include a Central time zone countdown led by Chance the Rapper from Chicago. In Las Vegas, NFL personality Rob Gronkowski returns and will be joined by performer and new NYRE co-host Julianne Hough. Additional details, including the Times Square headline act and participants for the Puerto Rico celebration, will be announced closer to the broadcast.

For the third consecutive year, Dick Clark Productions and iHeartMedia will simulcast the show across roughly 150 iHeartRadio stations nationwide — including flagship stations such as Z100 New York, KIIS-FM Los Angeles, KISS-FM Chicago, Q102 Philadelphia and THE NEW MIX 102.9 Dallas — and the special will stream live on the iHeartRadio app.

Originally conceived as a youthful alternative to Guy Lombardo’s specials, the program debuted on NBC in December 1972 as Three Dog Night’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. Early editions included pre-recorded performances by the likes of Helen Reddy, Billy Preston and Three Dog Night. The show moved to ABC beginning with the December 1974/January 1975 broadcast, when Dick Clark took on hosting duties and the special was billed as Chicago’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 1975. Clark passed away in 2012, but his name remains attached to the franchise he created.

This year’s broadcast is produced by Dick Clark Productions and lists Ryan Seacrest, Michael Dempsey and Barry Adelman as executive producers. Dick Clark Productions is part of Penske Media Eldridge, a joint venture between Eldridge Industries and Penske Media.
