The developers prepared a surprise for observant players.
Recently, CD Projekt RED released a trailer to mark Cyberpunk 2077’s fifth anniversary. It turns out they tucked an easter egg — a message to the community — into it.
At one point a hidden message flashes on screen, which fans managed to capture:
Five years. It feels like a single blink. In that time Night City has expanded far beyond what we imagined. More than 30 million of you have visited Night City, and 10 million have experienced the Phantom Liberty DLC. That means the world to us. You — the community — are extraordinary. Over these five years you’ve given us so many memories: full-scale Samurai concerts, meetups where people gather to celebrate and talk about everything related to Cyberpunk 2077… There have even been tattoos and, believe it or not, a marriage proposal at one of our booths (congratulations again!). All of this is an enormous compliment and truly moves us.
Putting players first has always been a central value at CD PROJEKT RED. With your devotion and passion, that principle is easy to uphold. You gave us the determination to keep going, and that determination fuels us to push forward. The game’s launch, the Edgerunners update, Phantom Liberty, the 2.0 overhaul, and successful releases on Nintendo Switch 2 and Apple Mac — you’ve helped us build momentum over these five years. We’ll use that momentum as we work on Cyberpunk 2 and everything we have planned for the Cyberpunk universe.
