Many want to support the creators of their favorite game, but they’re unwilling to pay those prices.

A controversy erupted within the ARC Raiders community after a recent store update. Players accuse Embark Studios of overpricing cosmetics and releasing low-quality skins, especially given that the game costs $40.

Come on — how can anyone be calm about $25 bundles in a $40 game? That’s not acceptable.

Players initially grumbled quietly, but the latest store update prompted many to voice their displeasure. New releases — the The Leviathan set priced at $16 and Wilderness Scout at $11 — drew especially fierce criticism. Fans note that The Leviathan largely mirrors the earlier Renegade Moon set, aside from the helmet.

Some have defended Embark and suggested simply not buying skins, while others respond that they’d like to support the team behind their favorite game — but the prices are a deterrent.
