Brad Bird Refuses to Direct Ratatouille Sequel

Brad Bird, the visionary director behind *Ratatouille*, has officially ruled out returning to the world of the iconic Pixar feature. In a recent interview, the filmmaker revealed that while the studio has frequently approached him about the possibility of a sequel, his stance remains firmly unchanged.

“No. We have already told that story,”

Bird remarked when questioned about his interest in helming a potential *Ratatouille 2*. He noted that while representatives from Pixar occasionally tease him about whether he has had a change of heart, his decision remains resolute.

Bird clarified that he is not inherently opposed to sequels—pointing to his work on *Incredibles 2* and the upcoming third installment—but maintains that a follow-up should only be produced if there is a compelling narrative to justify it, rather than simply capitalizing on the success of an original hit.

Released in 2007, *Ratatouille* earned the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and remains one of Pixar’s most celebrated films. Despite enduring fan enthusiasm and recurring rumors regarding a sequel, Bird’s comments make it clear that he has no intention of revisiting Remy’s culinary adventures anytime soon.
