BLACKPINK’s Lisa and Jisoo Announce New Solo Projects Just Hours Apart
BLACKPINK’s members are diving headfirst into an ambitious new season of individual artistry. Following hot on the heels of Jennie’s recent announcement regarding her forthcoming EP, bandmates Jisoo and Lisa have both confirmed brand-new solo projects slated for release in the coming weeks.
The duo unveiled their respective ventures on social media just hours apart, sending fans into a frenzy. Jisoo kicked off the reveals by sharing an unsettling, cinematic teaser set in an eerie carnival after hours, complete with glitching, lifelike animatronics reminiscent of Five Nights at Freddy’s. The visual vignette culminated with the title “Click” and an official arrival date of September 4.
Shortly thereafter, Lisa shared the cover artwork for her upcoming musical collection, Press Play, which is scheduled to drop on October 23. The arresting cover features the White Lotus star posing in a sophisticated ensemble with her flowing locks sweeping across the frame. In the accompanying caption, she confirmed that the project’s lead single, “SaWaDiKa,” will arrive even sooner—making its debut on September 3.
A Prolific Era for the Global Icons
These simultaneous reveals follow a massive reunion cycle for the four-piece ensemble. After wrapping a record-shattering global stadium tour, the group dropped their collaborative Deadline EP in February, securing an impressive debut at No. 8 on the Billboard 200.
Even amid their group obligations, all four members have actively cultivated distinct solo identities. Rosé, Lisa, and Jennie previously unveiled standalone full-length efforts—Rosie, Alter Ego, and Ruby, respectively—while Jisoo delivered her solo EP, Amortage.
The group’s solo momentum continues to accelerate. Ahead of Jisoo’s “Click” and Lisa’s “SaWaDiKa,” Jennie is preparing to release her three-track EP Fallen Angel on August 28, featuring the songs “FALLEN ANGEL,” “HEAVEN,” and “Less Than a Lover.”
Jisoo has openly spoken about her drive to diversify her musical range. In a conversation with V Magazine, the vocalist highlighted her intent to present an expansive palette of genres on her forthcoming solo debut. She echoed those sentiments on Hot Ones, noting that reconvening with BLACKPINK re-energized her creative passion and inspired her to explore the full spectrum of her artistic identity.
