Since its launch in 2010, Record Store Day’s Black Friday edition has quietly grown into a dependable holiday tradition for vinyl collectors. This iteration is smaller than the main April event but remains meaningful: organizers put together a focused slate of releases designed to spark excitement and make excellent gifts.

RSD co‑founder Michael Kurtz says the release list is intentionally concise so fans can discover a few standout records to give or receive over the holidays. With roughly 175 titles on the roster this year, participating labels are mining archives and offering exclusive pressings to entice shoppers back into local record stores.
