Miley Cyrus has announced her engagement, and her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, shared his delight at the prospect of welcoming a new son-in-law.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday (Dec. 3), the country star published two photos of Miley with her fiancé, Maxx Morando. One image captures the couple dining together while Miley cradles her left hand to show a sparkling engagement ring — a gold band set with a central diamond.

“So happy you and MaxxAgazillion found each other!!!!” Billy Ray wrote. “Congratulations! Happy to see you both so happy!!!”

He also shared a nostalgic photo of himself and Miley alongside Dolly Parton, adding, “No wonder you turned out so special … You have the greatest Godmother in the world!!! @dollyparton,” and signing the caption, “love Dad.”

The post arrived a day after reports that Miley and Morando — who have been together for about four years — planned to marry. Miley confirmed the engagement in a recent interview with Billboard, saying she isn’t rushing a wedding.

“Now with the holidays coming up, I’ll have a little bit more time to think about it,” she said. “My instinct is always to enjoy every moment for as long as you possibly can.”

Miley was previously married to Liam Hemsworth; the couple separated in 2018 and their divorce was finalized in 2020. Around that time, Billy Ray also ended his 28-year marriage to Tish Cyrus.

Like his daughter, Billy Ray has moved forward romantically. In April he went public with his relationship with actress Elizabeth Hurley, whom he reconnected with after his split from third wife Firerose. (He was also married to Cindy Smith prior to his marriage to Tish.)

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight in May, Hurley praised him: “Billy’s a very, very fabulous person. He’s a very gentle man, very nice … We’re very happy.”
