Beyoncé Donates to Indiana Flood Relief Through BeyGood Foundation

Beyoncé donated $200,000 to Indiana Flood Relief on Monday (Aug. 31) through her BeyGood Foundation.

The BeyGood Foundation announced the contribution via a social media post, stating that the funds went to City Life Center and Angel by Nature. According to the post, the two organizations are “on the ground aiding communities most affected following the record flooding caused by a derecho storm that destroyed infrastructure, leaving more than 1000 people unhoused.”

“The fund will immediately support critical relief and recovery efforts in the neediest areas, including the city of Gary,” the post continued, “providing food, household supplies, and other essential resources to individuals and families impacted by the flooding.”

The post encouraged followers interested in supporting the cause to donate online through BeyGood’s website.

The donation follows the Donald Trump administration’s declaration of the Indiana situation as a major disaster on Aug. 25. Two weeks prior, a derecho — defined by the National Weather Service as a “widespread, long-lived wind storm that is associated with a band of rapidly moving showers or thunderstorms” — struck northwest and north-central Indiana with high winds, tornadoes, hail, and flash floods.

Indiana’s Department of Homeland Security reported that the storm caused widespread power outages, property damage, and evacuations across the state.

The Destiny’s Child alum, whose most recent album was 2024’s two-week Billboard 200-topper Cowboy Carter, has recently engaged in multiple philanthropic efforts. Parkwood Entertainment shared in late August that she donated $1 million to disaster relief in Colombia following a magnitude-7.4 earthquake that caused widespread damage and food insecurity.
