Grand Theft Auto VI is officially slated for a November 19 release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. With over a year having passed since the last trailer, the gaming community is understandably restless for fresh updates. While Rockstar Games has remained quiet regarding new footage, evidence surfaced via Best Buy affiliate communications suggests that preorders might finally open as early as next week.

A growing thread on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit is documenting reports from various Best Buy affiliates—content creators who earn commissions on sales driven through their referral links. These creators claim to have received emails outlining a new marketing campaign for “GTA 6 Pre Order (Physical Game).” The provided documentation specifies a window from May 18, 2026, to May 21, 2026, leading many to speculate that the pre-purchase options will go live this coming Monday.

While industry veterans know to approach Rockstar-related rumors with a healthy dose of skepticism, the sheer volume of reports adds credibility to the leak. Several well-known video game deal trackers, including the influential Cheap Ass Gamer account, have confirmed receiving the same notification, suggesting the correspondence is genuine rather than a fabricated hoax.

It is important to note, however, that an affiliate campaign launch does not guarantee an immediate preorder window. It is entirely possible that this reflects an internal database update or a clerical error at the retail level. Fortunately, we likely won’t be left guessing for much longer.
