Actor Ben Affleck shared that 12-year-olds easily defeat him in first-person shooters and mock him afterward.

Actor Ben Affleck recently appeared on the New Heights podcast to discuss his life and his new film Animals.

When the host asked about the inspiration behind the visuals in the film, Affleck explained that his son is obsessed with Fortnite and that he also plays video games:

I play video games too, you know, first-person shooters. And I think I’m pretty good. Sometimes I try to have some fun, I log into a game, and 12-year-olds just destroy me. I log out, and they kill me right away and then start mocking me, saying things like, “You’re [expletive].” And eventually I start arguing with them: “Go [expletive] yourself, I’m not a [expletive], I’m a grown man.”

Ben Affleck also talked about the high cost of skins. After his son showed him expensive cosmetic content, the actor expressed confusion over why such items could cost hundreds of dollars:

I know I’m getting older when I watch my son scrolling through skins and stuff, and he says, “Oh, this one’s cool.” And I’m like, “That’s cool?” — and it’s a guy in a hat with rabbit ears — and I’m asking, “Is that, like, trendy?” And I thought these costumes were so unusual and random. That is exactly what I based the costume designs on [for the movie]. One day my son asked for a Christmas present: “Can you buy me these Fortnite skins?”, and they cost 300 bucks. And I’m like, “That much for skins? They’re not even real, you just wear them in the game.” And he explained that “they’re a limited series.” It’s [expletive] insane.

The actor enjoys playing Valorant as well as sports simulators such as 2K and Madden NFL.
