American character actor James Tolkan, widely recognized for his authoritative presence in several cinematic classics, has passed away at the age of 95, according to Variety.
Tolkan earned enduring fame for his memorable performances in the Back to the Future trilogy and the high-octane drama Top Gun. His extensive filmography also includes notable turns in the original The Amityville Horror, Serpico, and Dick Tracy, among others.
The veteran actor made his final screen appearance in the 2015 gritty western Bone Tomahawk.
