Avatar: Seven Havens Renewed for Two More Seasons Ahead of Release
It is a busy period for fans of the franchise. Avatar: The Last Airbender creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko reunited the original Gaang for Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender in July. On Oct. 9, Avatar: Seven Havens premiered to critical acclaim as a post-apocalyptic follow-up to The Legend of Korra. DiMartino and Konietzko appeared on stage at New York Comic Con to share updates on the new show and the future of the series.
Paramount previously greenlit Avatar: Seven Havens for two 13-episode seasons. The first three episodes debuted on Oct. 9, and additional episodes from Book 1: Survival air on Fridays through Oct. 30. Following the plot details from the initial episodes, Paramount renewed the series through Book 4.
Avatar: Seven Havens relies on mystery by revealing secrets about Avatar Pavi, the nature of the Seven Havens, and the cataclysm that changed the world. Fans can follow the official companion podcast Avatar: Braving the Elements for behind-the-scenes details and interviews with creators and cast members. Janet Varney, the original voice of Korra, and Dante Basco, who voiced Prince Zuko on Avatar: The Last Airbender, host the podcast.
Avatar creators promise a new swashbuckling adventure

Konietzko will serve as showrunner for Avatar Kuruk: Wave of Chaos, a new animated series from Avatar Studios and Nickelodeon Animation Studios. Set centuries before Aang’s birth, the series follows a rebellious teenage Avatar from the Northern Water Tribe as he travels the world and masters the elements against tradition. Accompanied by his pet, Nikik, Kuruk deals with spirits, pirates, and angry teachers.
Kuruk first appeared in season 2 of Avatar: The Last Airbender, following references in season 1 by the spirit Koh, who stole the face of Kuruk’s fiance. The new series will explore that conflict alongside globe-trotting adventures.
