Former Bungie Developer Defends Gears of War E-Day Development Team
Niles Sankey also recalled when such people arrived at Bungie itself.
Former Bungie employee Niles Sankey, who experienced the studio’s “golden era” and worked on Halo 3, Halo: Reach, and the original Destiny, has defended The Coalition. The studio is currently facing criticism on social media over the appearance of female characters in Gears of War: E-Day.
Sankey is certain that The Coalition has rank-and-file developers who may even oppose the agenda, but they cannot voice their opinions for fear of losing their jobs.
I guarantee there are developers on the team who do not support the agenda and progressive ideology. The same thing happened at Bungie. Although the main wave of imposing this ideology there rose up after I left in 2015, I know for a fact: there were closet conservatives in the studio. People who could not openly express their dissatisfaction without risking their jobs. It is very insulting when your hard work gets branded with ideas that you consider fundamentally unacceptable and disgusting. I hope Asha either reorganizes this studio or disbands it altogether. Fuck them.
