This performance positions the threequel as the sixth highest-grossing release of 2025, currently trailing behind major hits like Lilo & Stitch, Zootopia 2, and the latest Jurassic World installment.
While industry analysts previously projected that Avatar: Fire and Ash would cross the $1 billion threshold by January 1, 2026, current data suggests that achieving this milestone within that timeframe may be a difficult feat.
To reach the break-even point and ensure profitability, the film reportedly needs to gross approximately $2 billion. Reaching this financial benchmark is considered a crucial prerequisite for the production of the fourth Avatar film.
