Apple Joins The Game Awards’ Advisory Council

Apple has officially joined The Game Awards’ advisory board, placing it alongside Activision, Epic Games, Electronic Arts, Kojima Productions, Nintendo, Microsoft, Rockstar, and Tencent.

Organizers stressed that the board’s role is to help develop the event and advance its mission. Companies on the board do not take part in selecting nominees or winners.

Apple is making deliberate moves into the gaming industry. The company is enhancing its Macs and mobile devices to support ambitious console and mobile titles. Modern iPhones are already capable of running a number of complex games that were once exclusive to consoles.

Apple is also actively expanding its mobile gaming service, Apple Arcade, which releases exclusive mobile titles each year, including games not available on other platforms.
