After harsh winds forced the cancellation of his opening weekend performance, Anyma returned to Coachella’s second weekend under tranquil skies to unveil his highly anticipated ÆDEN production.
Taking the stage shortly after midnight, the producer appeared bathed in white light as the festival’s massive mainstage LED display ignited behind him. The visual narrative began with a sequence of towering, digitally rendered pillars that rhythmically crumbled and reformed, setting the tone for a night where reality and artificiality would continuously collide.
Anyma’s performance was defined by technical precision and theatrical flair. The elevated platform housing his gear moved fluidly, creating an illusion that the artist was floating amidst bursts of fire and shifting holographic geometry.
The show’s aesthetic leaned heavily into the marriage of classical antiquity and futuristic tech—a motif established during his acclaimed End of Genesys residency at Las Vegas’ Sphere. Michelangelo-esque statues were deconstructed on screen to reveal metallic, robotic interiors, while mythological figures like a writhing, serpentine Medusa and tree-root-inspired entities commanded the display. Returning fans were treated to updated versions of familiar visuals, including the surreal, ink-dripping eyeballs from the “Voices In My Head” sequence.
The musical journey featured striking guest appearances, most notably a haunting, marble-statue interpretation of Ellie Goulding during their collaboration, “Hypnotized.” The momentum peaked when LISA joined Anyma for the live debut of their single, “Bad Angel.” Draped in an ethereal gown, the K-Pop icon captivated the audience, with her presence underscored by towering, angel-themed visuals that solidified the performance as a career-defining moment for the DJ.
The evening concluded with Joji, whose poignant vocals on their recent collaboration, “Beautiful,” anchored the finale. As stone-rendered versions of the artist appeared on the monolith-sized screen, the performance served as a powerful testament to Anyma’s ability to bridge the gap between high-concept digital art and intimate, human performance.
By bringing ÆDEN to the Coachella mainstage, Anyma hasn’t just expanded his own sonic universe—he has set a new, ambitious benchmark for the future of live electronic music.
