Anthony Hopkins to release a classical music album
Two-time Academy Award winner Sir Anthony Hopkins is set to debut his first studio album this August.
The record, titled Life Is A Dream✱Life is a dream, serves as a curated anthology of compositions Hopkins has crafted throughout his life. The actor discovered his passion for the piano at the age of four, and just a few years later, he was already immersing himself in the works of Beethoven and Chopin.
Music has always been my primary passion and my deepest aspiration. I have been composing throughout my entire life. Some of these pieces have remained with me for decades, and I find myself returning to them time and again,
— Hopkins shared in an official press release. The album is being distributed by Decca Classics, featuring orchestral accompaniment by the Los Angeles Philharmonic under the baton of conductor Gustavo Dudamel.
Despite his age, the 88-year-old Hopkins remains a prolific presence in cinema: by the end of the year, he will appear in Guy Ritchie’s thriller *Wife & Dog* and the romantic drama *The Housekeeper* alongside Helena Bonham Carter.
