Announcement Trailer for Total War: Medieval III — Creative Assembly Readies New Medieval Project
The Total War franchise returns to the medieval era.
Creative Assembly hosted a special livestream to mark Total War’s 25th anniversary. The studio shared some plans and unveiled a new project:
We’ve been waiting a long time to share this: the Total War series is returning to the medieval era. Total War: MEDIEVAL III is now in early development.
Developers emphasized that this is not merely a “sequel” — it’s a revival of historical Total War.
In the blog post, the game director for Total War: Medieval III outlined the project’s vision:
Our goal is to make MEDIEVAL III the definitive Total War sandbox set in the medieval era — an ideal “what if?” experience that lets you change the course of history. We aim to immerse you in the historical authenticity you expect from Total War. As the campaign unfolds, the world will react to your choices so that events feel believable. You can either follow the trajectories recorded in history books or rewrite them yourself.
