Andy Muschietti spoke about a new version of “It”

Andy Muschietti, the visionary director behind the cinematic adaptation of “IT,” remains committed to crafting a definitive supercut that merges both chapters of the acclaimed horror epic. However, the project’s launch date remains uncertain. According to the director’s sister and creative partner, producer Barbara Muschietti, their current production slate is simply too congested to move forward with the project immediately.

At present, Andy is deeply immersed in the development of “Welcome to Derry,” a prequel series exploring the dark history of the titular town. Furthermore, he has been officially tapped to helm the upcoming Batman installment, which will serve as a cornerstone of James Gunn’s revamped DC Universe.

Despite these high-profile commitments, Warner Bros. has expressed full support for the Muschiettis should they decide to finalize the unified “IT” experience. First teased back in 2019, this comprehensive version is expected to integrate deleted material alongside entirely new sequences, potentially extending the total runtime to over six hours.
