And That’s Still Cheap: Diablo IV Adds a $150 DOOM: The Dark Ages Cosmetic Bundle
Newcomers to the franchise are reeling from the aggressive monetization strategies found within this premium title.
Blizzard has unveiled a fresh wave of cosmetic offerings for Diablo IV, featuring a high-profile collaboration with the upcoming shooter, DOOM: The Dark Ages.
Acquiring the entire collection is valued at a staggering 17,500 Platinum—a significant investment considering that 11,500 Platinum typically retails for roughly $100. However, for a limited time, players can take advantage of a “mega-bundle” priced at 5,700 Platinum.
While many players were taken aback by these prices, this isn’t the highest peak for digital goods in Sanctuary. Last year, the community witnessed an even more premium crossover with the Berserk franchise, where completing the full set of items cost players as much as 18,500 Platinum.
