<p>Unveiled back in April 2025, <em>Star Wars Zero Company</em> marks the debut outing for Bit Reactor, a studio formed by industry veterans with deep ties to strategy juggernauts like <em>Civilization</em> and <em>XCOM</em>. That pedigree is evident in the gameplay, which mirrors the structural depth of the XCOM series: players engage in turn-based combat, returning to a sophisticated base of operations between missions to plot their campaign against the Separatist threat. Much like its tactical predecessors, <em>Zero Company</em> ups the stakes with permadeath mechanics, ensuring that if a squad member falls in the heat of battle, they stay down for good.</p>

Tasked by the Republic to hunt down an erratic Separatist splinter cell, the crew features a diverse cast—including a Mandalorian and a Jedi Padawan—providing a fresh perspective on the era. The reveal trailer showcased a blend of tactical maneuvers and character management menus, closing with a brief glimpse of General Skywalker igniting his lightsaber, firmly placing the narrative within the pre-<em>Revenge of the Sith</em> timeline.</p>

<p>Beyond the narrative, developers promise a massive scope, with over 150 planets to explore. Players can recruit and customize their own squad of "operators," choosing from seven distinct alien species including Togruta, Twi’lek, and Zabrak.
